Elk Lake covers a 12,000-acre privately-owned forest preserve in the heart of the High Peaks, ringed by mountains: Dix, Macomb, Nippletop, and the Colvin Range.

Guests have exclusive use of 600-acre Elk Lake with its 30 islands and many coves, inlets and adjacent bogs; 200-acre Clear Pond, a deep kettle pond with a remote sandy beach; and 2 miles of the roaring mountain river called The Branch, as well as smaller streams throughout the property.

Fishing with fly or spinning rod for rare heritage strain Dix Pond trout in Elk Lake and The Branch and landlocked salmon and lake trout in Clear Pond. Fishing is excellent in spring, summer and fall.

Kayaks, canoes, and row boats are available for guests.
