The concept of Nipigon River Adventures in Red Rock, Ontario stems from two perceived needs of Nipigon River Adventures. First, the need for an indoor hub from which to balance the seasonal nature of adventure tourism, and secondly, the need for a base environment more central to popular outdoor adventure destinations.

Nipigon River Adventures is designed to tour in outdoor sports such as fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, and sailing. Two unique attractants are the world-class brook trout fishing location on the Nipigon River and the adjacent Lake Superior for fresh air water and land activities. Great hiking, mountain biking and kayaking/canoing opportunities lie within ten miles of Nipigon River Adventures hub – The Lodge.

Nipigon River Adventures has its base in The Lodge, situated in Red Rock, near Thunder Bay, Ontario. Access by plane is an easy flight to Thunder Bay through Toronto or Winnipeg.

We are located in the middle of the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area. The Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area is the largest freshwater protected area in the world spanning over 10,000 square kilometres in size.  It is home to over 50 shipwrecks, 70 species of fish and countless islands and bays. National Marine Conservation Areas are managed by Parks Canada and they are part of a nation-wide family of protected areas. These special places strive to conserve delicate marine ecosystems in ways where traditional activities such as hunting, fishing and boating will continue to be enjoyed by people today and future generations.
