Repairs to the Dam at Lake Cumberland are now complete. The extended period of water being down will mean that Lake Cumberland will be very fertile for the next few years. The last time the lake was drawn down it produced stringers of largemouth and smallmouth that were the largest in the state even rivaling stringers from Kentucky Lake.
New Structure piles put in by the Department of Fish and Wildlife and by Fishing clubs in co-operation with the COE and Fish and wildlife will mean a boom in fish over the next few years. Stringers 5 years after the lake was impounded got to 70 pounds for a THEN 10 fish limit. The Lake Cumberland Lodge still has a stringer of fish that is the state record for a 10 fish limit that neared 80 pounds. Not only are the repairs to Wolf Creek Dam complete, but the level of the lake is already at Summer Pool! In addition, the LATEST NEWS is that the
corps is also building a WORLD CLASS TROUT STREAM to be completed AUTUMN 2014!
