We Roelie & Bruce Pretorius with the help of Marten & Elly Juckers established Blaauwbosch Trout Inn CC in 2004.
It all started when we grew tired of the city lights and begun our hunt for the ideal retreat we had always pictured in our minds.
After 20 years in the motor industry, we were ready for something a bit more relaxing.
Having retired, Marten & Elly were ready to downscale, but couldn’t quite find the right place in Johannesburg.
And so we ended up in the country, alas not really a smaller place though - indeed Blaauwbosch Trout Inn is situated on some 103 hectares of hilly country side with historic 75 000 year (225 000 year???) old ruin’s scattered all around.
A keen fisherman from an early age, Bruce has been involved in artificial lure fishing for years and even obtaining Northern Transvaal colours in the sport. He has since become a keen fly fisher - even tying his own flies - and Blaauwbosch offers him the opportunity of sharing his passion with fellow enthusiasts, be they beginners or experts.
OUR AIM
To create a place where families can get together and enjoy a relaxing time, be it to do fly fishing, bird watching, walking in the mountains, horse riding or just relaxing on the stoep of one of our homes.
