A paradise for fishermen and bird watchers alike. This little piece of untouched wonderland is just the tonic for a rustic weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 26 km from Marble Hall with 11 campsites (and a further three under construction) – overlooking the Flag Boshielo Dam.
Since its inception this recently established camping site has grown in popularity and quickly established a reputation as a fisherman’s paradise. Matlala offers a launch for flotillas and boats as well as 11 (with 3 more under construction) camping facilities – with tents sleeping between 2 and 12 people – all overlooking the Flags Boshielo Dam at one of the most picturesque areas of the dam. 24 hour security is available. There is a kiosk which offers all the necessary supplies as well as “mieliepitte” if the Carp are nibbling. Plus there is a bottle store with a wide range of stock – so no need for Saturday night visits to the Shebeens! There is electricity, ablutions with hot showers and two recently added swimming pools – for that cooling dip after a long day’s fishing.
