The waters around Nosy Be are alive with Sailfish, Marlin, Dogtooth Tuna, GT and Kuta. With 1000m drop offs; Castor, Leven, Grand and Voltigeur banks of 150 km in length and untouched reefs you cannot (and will not) be disappointed. On a dedicated fishing charter it is also possible to get as far as Cap Saint Sebastian – another excellent fishing ground.
The catamarans cruise at around 5 knots and enjoy good sports fishing, regular catches of Giant Trevelly (Kingfish), King Mackerel, Barracuda and Bonito. Less regular, but by no means rare, are catches of Sail Fish, Blue and Yellow Fin Tuna and Marlin. The most rewarding and unusual are Dog Tooth Tuna and Wahoo – they are out there – somewhere! Gecko has caught both.
