Border Water Ice Fishing Adventures is a family owned and operated business. We have been fishing Lake Of The Woods since the 1960s when our friend Larry Jaycox started a business called "Jake's Ice Fishing."
"Jake's" operated out of the Warroad Estates Marina and primarily fished the Whiskey Flats area and the west end of Muskeg Bay. "Jake's" eventually sold the business to Bob Stoltenberg. We became good friends and continued to fish and work with Bob and Cami for nine years as they operated "BoBs" Ice fishing.
When Bob decided to "get off the ice" in 2013, it seemed like a perfect fit for us to step into this ice fishing venture. We took over the business in January of 2014 when the houses were on the ice and the clients were in the books, so our feet were really put to the fire!!
The outrageous propane prices and shortages, extremely cold weather, and lots of snow and wind all added to the challenges of starting out on this new "adventure"!! I think we did a pretty good job of meeting those challenges head on and finished up with a successful first season.
Since the ice went off the lake we have been busy servicing, repairing, and adding new equipment as we prepare for an even better and hopefully more organized up coming season.
The "family" in this family owned and operated business is made up of: "Grandpa" Jerry, "Grandma" Sue, son Jeremy who is also a certfied auto mechanic and spends a fair amount of his "fishing" time keeping our fleet of equipment serviced and repaired, daughter Sarah, grandsons Jeremy Mark and our youngest (and most energetic) Jeran Micheal.
The entire Reitmeier family is totally committed to making your Border Water Ice Fishing Adventure a fun and memorable experience!!
We run our operation out of the Warroad Estates Marina conveniently located only a mile out of the City of Warroad. Our equipment is all kept at the marina and there is plenty of plowed parking to accommodate our guests.
