Whether it’s that world class Alaska Fishing trip you’ve always wanted to go on, or just simply a chance to get away from it all, Glacier Bear Lodge can accommodate you. Located in Yakutat, Alaska, our lodge has all the amenities and activities to experience a true Alaska vacation.
Glacier Bear Lodge is centrally located, between the Yakutat Airport and town. We provide the best lodging and dining accommodations in the area.
The Situk River is a premium river with runs of Steelhead and Salmon throughout the spring, summer and fall. We have drift boats that will take you on a 14 mile drift down the most beautiful river in Southeast Alaska, the Situk also has river trails that allow you to take off on your own. We also have access to many other rivers that hold fish as well and can be drifted or walked.
Getting to Glacier Bear Lodge is easy! Alaska Airlines flies through Yakutat twice daily.
Book an Ocean Charter
The Yakutat area has probably the best halibut and bottom fishing in Alaska. Halibut fishing area is typically in shallow water with short runs to the fishing area and has the highest average halibut weight in Alaska. The Glacier Bear Lodge owns a 28 ft fishing charter boat, it has twin 225hp Yamaha outboards, a 9'6"" beam and is maintained and operated by Captain Dave.
Daily charters are available during the season.
