Discover Alaska operates out of Volcano View RV Park and Cabin Rentals located at 16867 Sterling Highway. It is at the south end of Ninilchik just past the Deep Creek River Bridge. Turn right on Wayside Road and watch for the signs.
We provide a memorable, world-class experience. You will have the opportunity to capture the beauty and essence of the Kenai or Kasilof Rivers located on the Kenai Peninsula and come face- to-face with the hard-fighting, aggressive salmon that wait to challenge your skill and hook.
The largest halibut got by our clients in 2015 was 215#. What a huge fish! Pacific halibut are delicious to eat and your family and friends will love their taste. According to ADF&G, Cook Inlet halibut averages in size from about 15-17 pounds and those halibut are the younger, tender ‘good eating’ sizes. We will give you the opportunity to try to catch bigger halibut and experience the anticipation and the excitement about what size halibut might bite your line!
In recent years trolling in the saltwater has been our most consistent and productive way to target kings. It is also one of the most exciting. One moment you are trolling around enjoying the scenery or watching otters play and the next the deck erupts into a flurry of activity. Combine this excitement with a few action packed hours of halibut fishing and you truly have a trip to remember.
