Float Fishing on the Upper Gunnison River (Almont to Blue Mesa Reservoir)
The Gunnison River is formed in Almont at the confluence of the East River and the Taylor River. From there the Gunnison River gives us one of the best fisheries in the state, as well as the largest tributary to the Colorado River. In roughly 20 miles of floatable river you will see some gorgeous scenery and an awesome fishing experience.
Our experienced guide staff is trained and qualified to get you safely down the river and provide the knowledge and coaching that will help you have a successful day on the river. No experience is required for a fishing float trip as our guides spend plenty of time at the put ins with you going over the necessary skills you will need.
Float trips are highly recommended for either beginners or advanced anglers. Our trips allow you to cover miles of river that you could not cover by walking if you had weeks to fish. They also give you the opportunity to float through some great private water that the average fisherman does not get to see.
Equipment including rods, reels, waders, and boots will be furnished for your trips if you do not have them. Fishing licenses and flies are not included in your trip cost but can be purchased at the shop before your trip.
Gratuity for your guide is not included but is much appreciated.
