Will's career as a fishing guide began with a passion for the outdoors and a crippling addiction to fishing with a fly. While working with other veterans in a fly fishing program that would later become a local affiliate of Project Healing Waters Will discovered that he might possess the traits necessary to make taking people fishing and teaching fly tying a job.
It was confirmed with the successful completion of Sweetwater Travel's Guide School on the Big Horn River where he began to learn the ways of the professional fly fishing guide and gained skill in drift boat fishing. Upon graduation he accepted a position at Goodnews River Lodge in Alaska where he put his newly acquired knowledge to work and continued to learn from the highly skilled and experienced staff of the lodge. After conclusion of his second season of guiding on in Alaska Will decided it was time to build a business at home and founded CastaFly Outdoors.
