Capt. Ray Szulczewski is a USCG licensed insured guide and owner of Tide Runner Fly and Light Tackle Charters. He has been fishing the New Jersey shore since he was a kid and has run charters for over 25 years, including many years of offshore big game experience. His passion is fly and light tackle fishing with flies and artificials . He has switched his charters to guiding along the beach front and back bay areas specializing in fly and light tackle fishing.

Ray is an active member of the CAPE MAY PARTY AND CHARTER BOAT ASSOCIATION and was president for 4 years. He is a charter member of SOUTH JERSEY COASTAL FLY ANGLERS, past President, and currently on the board of directors. Capt. Ray has participated in a number fishing seminars and most recently was a featured Capt. Instructor at the SALTWATER SPORTSMEN NATIONAL SEMINAR SERIES in Atlantic City, hosted by GEORGE POVEROMO´S WORLD OF SALTWATER FISHING.

When not taking out charters Ray will be out fishing, searching out new spots and trying new fly patterns and techniques. He personally releases most of the fish he catches, as he believes the thrill is more in the catching. Fish are great to eat and one should only kill what they intend to use, releasing the rest to insure healthy stocks for the future. A true sportsman will appreciate every fish, whether it is a trophy size or small.

No matter what your fishing skills or experience, Capt. Ray will do his best to make your trip an enjoyable experience. From experienced to novice, he will instruct and show you techniques that will help you catch, answering any questions you might have, helping you to become a more successful angler. The goal is to customize the trip to your needs, making sure you get the most out of your experience on the water.
