Richie Bernard has been fishing the lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and brooks of New Hampshire for over 50 years. He is an avid fly fisherman and an advocate of catch and release, but sometimes keeps a few smaller trout for the breakfast frying pan.
In the off-season, Richie teaches traditional Okinawan/Japanese karate. He is a 10th Degree, Chief Grand Master Instructor Grade Black Belt certified by the Japanese Ministry of Education. Richie is a three time inductee into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
He was a police officer in the town of Bedford, NH and he is a former Deputy Sheriff with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department. In 1992, he graduated from the New Hampshire Police Academy, finishing first in his class of 61 recruits.
