Border Country Outfitters offers rifle and archery hunts for whitetail deer in northwest Ontario. This area is home to massive whitetail bucks that will often weigh in excess of 300 pounds. The hunts are conducted in permanent enclosed stands, roofed ground blinds and portable stands on active scrape lines. Hunters are also encouraged to grunt and rattle for big bucks. Success rates are good with opportunities every season for Boone and Crocket class deer,. Before deer season opens, we offer hunts for black bear. These hunts are done from stands over baits that are placed on private and crown land. Due to the closing of the spring season, bear numbers area at all time highs in this region. In addition to big game hunts, we offer upland bird hunts and fishing packages on the world famous Rainy River and at our Outpost Cabins.

Border Country is located 9 miles north of Emo, Ontario Canada. Guests can either drive to the lodge or fly into International Falls, MN where they will be picked up and driven to the lodge.

Archery Whitetail Hunting

A 12 foot shooting platform has been added with an outdoor shooting range utilizing the glendale full rut buck targets.

Archery hunts run during the month of October. They are six day hunts for mature whitetails that are still on their summer feeding  patterns. This allows the hunter to target these monsters while they are still on a predictable routine.

Encounters are at close range from ladder, ground blind or clamp on tree stands. Your hunting day begins before dawn with a light breakfast and then you will be taken out to intercept your quarry as they head back to their bedding sites from their feeding activities. The morning wraps up with an 11:00 pick up and a mid day lunch. The afternoon will proceed by again taking stand in an ambush strategically located between the deer's bedding sites and their afternoon feeding locations.

Given a little luck and some persistence you will be smiling with a buck of your dreams for an early evening photo shoot of you and your trophy. You will be hunting whitetails from approximately 30,000 acres of private land and from 100 different stand locations. The opportunity for success has never been in your favour like this before.
