Pete's Kenai River Fishing Guide Service is located in Soldotna, Alaska right on the banks of the world famous Kenai River. The Kenai River produces more record size King salmon than any other river in the world. The world record was caught here in May of 1985 (97 lbs 4oz King salmon). The Kenai river also has excellent fishing for Silver salmon, Red salmon, Pink salmon, trophy Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden. Halibut fishing is good from May to September, with boats leaving on a Daily basis out of Homer and Deep Creek, weather permitting. Soldotna is 145 road miles from Anchorage or a 30 minute flight on a commuter airline to Kenai, then it's a 11 mile drive to Soldotna. Car rentals are available in Anchorage and Kenai. We recommend driving from Anchorage, as it is one of the most scenic drives you'll ever make.. Chances are that you'll see moose, bears, and dall sheep. You'll be traveling over mountains, rivers and by glaciers on your way to the Kenai Peninsula.
