Southern Trout owner Nick Clark is a registered member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association.

Nick is a fly-fishing-only specialist with 30 years experience, based out of Queenstown, New Zealand.

Welcome – I offer guided day trips and overnight expeditions. I’ll listen to what exactly you’re looking for in your New Zealand fly fishing vacation, and then use my extensive experience and knowledge of the Queenstown area to custom tailor the perfect trip, whether that means hiking through beautiful country to secret spots or flying by helicopter into fly fishing paradise.

My fly fishing trips will introduce you to some of the best and most remote New Zealand fly fishing waters. I’ll take you into areas of magnificent scenery, majestic mountains, beech forest, crystal clear mountain rivers and streams. Amongst all this, you’ll stalk and cast to sighted brown or rainbow trout.

Imagine yourself walking through wide open river valleys for mile after mile without another angler in sight. With my in-depth knowledge of 19 rivers in and around Queenstown and Central Otago, New Zealand, you’ll have the supreme fly fishing experience – casting to fish that you have sighted and stalked with the skill of a hunter.
