Welcome to Cozy Camp & Outpost

Our remote location on the Walleye-stuffed English River system is one of the top Walleye fishing destinations in Ontario. Walleyes not only reach great sizes with guests catching-&-releasing Walleyes over 30 inches; guests can expect high numbers of good eating size fish. People from all over America and Canada come to enjoy our awesome Walleye fishing.

English River Walleye Fishing

The English River is famous for it's abundance of golden Walleye! From trophies to tasty shore lunch, Walleye fishing is spectacular! While traveling the gently flowing waters, you will discover that it opens up into many small Walleye filled lakes, weedy bays, and rocky areas. The constant flow of fresh water, perfect structure & abundance of feeder fish has made the river a perfect hatchery for Walleye. The Walleye fishing is unsurpassed & the pristine beauty of the Canadian wilderness is breathtaking!

Walleye in the river average in the 1.5 to 5-pound range, which is a big average for any water system. We do have guests catching and releasing many Walleye up to 10 pounds all summer. The largest Walleye in the last couple of years was a fat 33-incher that weighed in at 11-pounds. It is quite easy to catch a tasty Walleye dinner only minutes from camp or catch & release between 20 and 40 Walleye in a day. While fishing the English River, you may choose to take a short portage over Talking Falls, for a remote, secluded day of fabulous Walleye fishing! We keep boats & motors there for our customers to enjoy a day of fantastic Walleye fishing at the Sowden Lake Rapids or along the scenic Gulliver River.

Ontario Black Bear Hunting

Experience the adrenaline rush as your eyes focus on the big black bruin entering your baited post. As you are sighting in your weapon, be it rifle or bow, take a deep breath, exhaling slowly and ....... watch your trophy fall! Dan's four weeks of pre-baiting pays off again with your success! Together you will achieve your Black Bear Hunting goal! The fall black bear hunt at Cozy Camp is a very exciting part of our season. Your reserved hunt can start as early as August 15th. The black bear are more than plentiful in our private bear management areas; they are way overpopulated.

Moose Hunting Cabin Rentals for WMU 15A

Cozy Camp is located in WMU 15A. We have not had any non-resident adult Moose tags issued to us this year.

However, we do still supply accommodations in our warm cozy river front cabins for resident Moose hunters with their own tags. Our location on the English River is a superb starting point as the river will give you access to many miles of prime Moose country. The local terrain is a labyrinth of ATV trails, old logging roads and game trails, which will allow you to get into some deep bush and maximize your chances at Harvesting a Moose.

Grouse Hunting

Grouse Hunting in our area can be an adventure in itself! Riding the back roads & trails on your ATV can make for some awesome thrills. Just taking in the spectacular fall colors, peaceful wilderness & the wildlife that you'll encounter will make you feel like you are definitely "North of the Tension Zone".

The ruffed Grouse & spruce Grouse are plentiful. It will not be hard to fill your limit each day. Most of the grouse in our area have never seen a human so they are not skittish at all.

On a sunny day you'll find them out on the roads & trails soaking up the sun. Most shots won't be more than 10 to 15 yards. It doesn't get much better than that!! There are many clear cuts in the area as well that provide excellent opportunities for Grouse Hunting.

Duck Hunting

The English River offers excellent opportunities for some terrific wing shooting! Being located on a major flyway flocks of migratory birds are drawn to the miles of natural wild rice beds. You won't have to travel far to fill your daily limits. Decoys are optional. Numerous varieties of Ducks will test your shooting skills day after day. Duck Hunting on the river is as good as it gets!! You will enjoy the crisp fall air & breathtaking colors of the Canadian wilderness as you travel the river. You can combine your Duck Hunt with some awesome fall fishing!
