Situated on the shores of the Palmiet River, Mofam River Lodge is the perfect laid-back, luxury getaway. You’ll find us deep in the Overberg’s Elgin Valley where the natural backdrop is unrelentingly beautiful.

Mofam is an outdoor adventure paradise for couples and families seeking a glitz-free yet creature-comfort holiday or mini break. Our friendly staff is on hand to serve up all manner of activities. These includes canoeing, sunset river barge cruises and quad biking.

Dine at our fully licensed restaurant. Arrange a romantic breakfast on your cabin deck overlooking the river. After an exciting day exploring the great outdoors on foot or zooming through vineyards and forests on quad bikes, end the day with a pre-dinner drink at our river-deck bar or at restaurant wine bar.

Owing to our larger-than-life natural scenery and full-service facilities we’ve successfully hosted many ultra-special weddings and business functions. As host, you get a dedicated venue coordinator to arrange your dream celebration or business breakaway.

Largemouth bass fishing

The region is well known for its freshwater fishing. In fact, the Palmiet River flows through the Elgin Valley, directly past Mofam. The middle reaches on which Mofam is situated contains various aquatic life including smallmouth bass. You can launch your own Kick boat or wader, or any non motorised craft, for the day. We can launch up to 8 vessels. Please remember that we have a strict Catch and Release policy
