Who And Where We Are
We are a family run business that believes in providing quality services to all of our visitors. We have been operating since 1967 in the Troublesome Basin, one of the premier Colorado elk hunting spots. We do our actual hunting in a road less section of Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest that you can only travel through on foot or on horseback. This means that much of our hunting is done on horseback so that you can savor this experience. If you like getting back to hunting in its most natural state then Samuelson Outfitters LLC can give you much of this feeling with our archery elk hunting Colorado.
The area where we conduct our deer and elk hunting is designated by #18 on your Colorado Big Game Map. It is a roadless part of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest near Rocky Mountain National Park. Travel is on foot or horseback. The majority of our hunts are off of horses. There are no motorized vehicles allowed in the Troublesome Basin, a primitive area. Our camps are a wilderness experience. The Troublesome Basin consists of 80,000 acres, timbered land, open parks and meadows, river drainage and peaks above timberline. The elevation ranges from 7,500 to 12,300 feet.
