Ridgerunner Outfitters LLC is a family owned and operated outfitting business licensed by the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Licensing Board. Located in the heart of the Clearwater National Forest, past home of the elusive Idaho legend, "The Ridgerunner." Come see this beautiful, wild country with its virgin cedar groves, white pines, fir trees, and hundreds of varieties of ferns. Choose a summer pack trip for fishing, photography, or just plain 'ol fun and relaxation. Easy access to our Base Camp on Skull Creek is about a 3 hour drive from Lewiston or Kamiah, Idaho. We specialize in Outdoor Adventures and fully guided, semi-guided, or drop camp hunts for Black Bear, Bobcat, Cougar, Deer, Elk, Forest Grouse, Gray Wolf, Mountain Goat, and Shiras Moose. Tell us what you want in a wilderness experience, and we'll do our best to make your vacation or hunt one you'll never forget.
Hike to the site where William C Moreland called home after leaving the city to live in the mountains. His journeys brought him to the North Fork Clearwater River country in 1942, living alone and away from people until his disappearance in 1963. He lived off the land, was pursued by the Forest Service and logging companies for "borrowing" conveniences the land couldn't provide, and spent alot of time staying in this HUGE hollow cedar tree, earning legendary status as "The Ridgerunner".
Once known for one of the largest Elk herds in the country, our area is approximately 130 square miles of The Clearwater National Forest with most designated as a proposed wilderness area - A vacation "playground" full of adventure with plenty of room to "play". As a proposed wilderness, most of the area is accessible only on foot or horseback. Therefore, we have very little outside hunting pressure in the rugged back country. The elevation runs from 2,000 to 7,000 feet, with most of our hunting done between 3,000 and 6,000 feet.
