Maine Black Bear Hound Hunt
For this hunt your Maine Registered Guide, Brandon Lane and his wife will provide you with meals, lodging and transportation once you arrive into Maine. You will be required to additionally purchase your license and tags for the trip. A non-resident license and tag is just under $200.00. Our hound hunts are 5 days, and consist of arriving on Sunday, hunting Monday through Friday and departing Saturday.
A black bear with hounds hunting trip take place during the months of September and October. One Maine black bear may be harvested per hunter. We accept a maximum of three people per hunting week for hound hunts to ensure quality of the hunt. We recommend that you are in good physical health for this hunting trip as it is a physical hunt. You may be walking through the woods at times, climbing steep embankments and crossing streams.
We hold a 99% success sighting rate for hound hunts. Being successful in harvesting a Maine black bear with hounds rests on your shooting and physical capabilities. With early mornings you will find a continental breakfast with coffee, tea or juice. You will have a bagged lunch to bring with you into the woods and a sit down home cooked meal each night to end your day. With a full bathroom and kitchen you will be right at home in our cozy camp.
