Arrowhead Hunting Preserve was officially established by Spike Smith in 2007, upon leaving Peace-n-Plenty Hunting Preserve of Craven County. It was time to move to his farm in Pitt County with 7 years of operating experience. Spike has always been a hunter so he can offer guidance to the beginner as well as share stories about hunting with the best of the hunters. As always, the importance of service and quality remain a number one priority. Spike realizes the need to have the best birds and the best guides so the hunters can have the best of times along with being satisfied.

Arrowhead Hunting Preserve is a farm bordering Swift Creek where Indians camped out on the hill next to this creek; arrowheads can be found with little effort; hence the name "Arrowhead" Hunting Preserve.

Arrowhead Hunting Preserve consists of approximately 2000+ acres.  Deer, wild ducks and preserve ducks, pheasant, chukar, quail and turkeys are available for hunting.  Opening day of dove season brings numerous hunters out to sunflower and corn fields. Spike welcomes everyone to come out and have an enjoyable hunt.

Spike started his hunting career at a very young age with his father, Austin Smith, placing him on his back, picking up the lantern and heading out for the woods at night.  His father was an avid coon hunter with numerous dogs: plot, blue ticks, black and tans and treeing walker hounds.  This was the beginning.  Spike hunted coons until 1992 and had grand champion coon hunting dogs.  Even though his coon hunting has slowed down, he scouts for deer to help his hunters, and hunts ducks and wild turkey occasionally.  Hunting is and always will be an integral part of Spike's life.
