Whitetail Deer Hunting at Southern Ohio Hunting Preserve

In the state of Ohio, there are two counties out of the 88 that are more than 75 % forest. Vinton County and Lawrence County. We are in Vinton County and Lawrence is our neighbor to the south along with Jackson, Athens, Gallia and Meigs counties.

Southeastern Ohio has always been known as big buck country. Vinton County is a relatively small county, in area, compared to some of the eastern counties that have a bigger number of deer killed each year. For a small county in area, we are always right up there in deer kill and Ohio Big Bucks. There is just enough agriculture here, our deer are grain fed, but have plenty of woods and habitat to run in.

We hunt Whitetail two ways here at Southern Ohio Hunting Preserve

1st-We hunt whitetail on our preserve. You can buy a particular whitetail buck or doe that we have available at a pre-agreed price. You come to our preserve at a prearranged time frame, and you hunt your whitetail in the hills and hollows on our hunting preserve. When you hunt in this way, the deer you kill does NOT have to be tagged in and will not count against your bag limit (however you are welcome to tag it in if you like).

2nd-We guide for, and do native Whitetail hunts off of our preserve. We have about 400 acres that we own and lease that is some of the best Whitetail habitat anywhere. We have food plots and manage the wild herd as best we can. We harvest several good bucks each year and always harvest bucks that will score in that 150 range. Our native whitetail hunts sell out pretty fast, because we must follow the seasons set by the State of Ohio (Bow season, gun, muzzleloader ect.) The deer you harvest on one of our native whitetail hunts must be tagged in, and all state laws, rules and bag limits must be obeyed.

You are paying us to hunt on our land, out of our tree stands, using our expertise and help while you are here. Your meals and lodging are included in your price when you hunt with us in this way. When you native Whitetail hunt with us, you must hunt with us at least two days (unless other arrangements have been made).  The cost of Native Whitetail deer hunting is $200 per day for any of the gun seasons, or $150 per day for any of Bow season. This includes your meals and lodging and there are no other charges connected with your hunt.

We have included several pictures of Deer in this section that we have harvested on our native Whitetail hunts over the last 2 or 3 years. This is an inexpensive way for some of you to have a chance to harvest a nice whitetail. Call us or e-mail us to book your native Whitetail hunt today.
