Flying W Ranch is located in Crockett County, Texas 7 miles east of Ozona. Owned by Steve and Belinda Wilkins, the land has been in Steve’s family for 4 generations. The land is rocky, arid land that when there is enough rain will grow abundant native grasses that are excellent in nutrition. Our cattle have the fortitude to range in large pastures, while also can adapt in dryer times, and yet still breed and produce.
Flying W Ranch is nearly 6000 acres in the Edwards Plateau region of Texas 7 miles east of Ozona. The ranch has abundant whitetail deer , Rio Grande turkey , and javelina. Flying W has wonderful facilities for entertaining clients and guests with a rustic limestone lodge that has a total of 6 bedrooms with 2 queen beds and bathroom in each. The main lodge has two of the bedrooms and a great kitchen and dining area and a main room with fireplace , bar and flatscreen television. Outside are 3 rooms joined together with a common porch that is a great place to relax and visit while looking at the beautiful pool and hot tub area.The pool is surrounded by native plants and flowers in the summer that make the pool with it’s natural limestone waterfall look like an oasis. There is a lighted washer court and a covered bbq area and fire pit which is always the place to be in the evening after the hunt. Close by is the guide shack ,a lone standing room outfitted like the other 5. Flying W also has a walk in cooler and a closed in processing room to take care of your game.
The ranch has 18 blind and feeder combinations as well as protein feeders for use before the season. Flying W will keep the feeders full and operating for our clients year round. Flying W Ranch has a managed land permit which allows us to harvest the deer necessary to maintain our herd for maximum production based on a survey taken before the season. The ranch may be leased for the deer hunting season or spring turkey season or both which would allow for nearly 7 months of customer contact and relation building. If you need a first class facility with abundant wild game to entertain customers or friends Flying W Ranch is the place. Only 2.5 miles south of I 10 it is less than 200 miles to edge of San Antonio, a quick 2 1/2 hour drive.
