Covered Gate Ranch is an intensively managed hunting ranch located 15 miles southwest of Uvalde, Texas (Map). It lies in the transition zone between the Texas Hill country and the South Texas plains. Turkey Creek, Gato Creek and Muella Creek meander through the ranch and are supplemented by three beautiful lakes - 65 surface acres, 30 acres and 17 acres. A combination of rolling hills and mesquite flats with lush live oak creek bottoms and draws provide a wide diversity of wildlife habitat. An extensive water system throughout the ranch completes the environment. Both hunters and non-hunters have wonderful times at The Covered Gate Ranch.
The Covered Gate Ranch has been developed specifically for a quality hunting experience. All of us here at the Covered Gate Ranch have been hunting our whole lives. They handle all of the amenities so that you can enjoy your hunt to its fullest.

After a riveting and successful hunt, dinner is served in our trophy-filled dining room. Irma's traditional home cooked meals are always an eagerly anticipated special occasion. It's often stated that the Covered Gate Ranch is one of the few places where "you can walk all day and still gain weight." When dinner ends, you can relax in our country-style hunting lodge which offers all of the comforts of home, including a living room with satellite TV and a cozy fireplace; a game room with pool table, shuffle board, poker table and darts; and if you prefer to bring your favorite spirits, we have a wet bar stocked with all the fixings. If you prefer relaxing outdoors, South Texas' mild seasons provide for memorable evenings on the deck, or around the liar's pit, reminiscing the day's hunt.

For those who don't need the mid-day siesta we also have a Skeet Range and a Driving Range for practicing or friendly competition.  Whether you are hunting with you family, your friends or with business associates, rest assured our guides and staff will make sure your hunt and stay at the Covered Gate Lodge is a relaxing and pleasant experience.
