Welcome to Westwood Lodge

It is located on the scenic shoreline of Big Island Lake, three miles south of Flin Flon. The lake is 6 miles long, with the depths ranging from a very shallow three feet, to over 150 feet- perfect for northern or lake trout. Guests can fish from the shore, off the dock, or venture out for a day trip to many surrounding lakes.

 

Northern Manitoba Fishing Lodge

Base Camp
The Base Camp of Westwood Lodge is located on scenic Big Island Lake, three miles south of Flin Flon, just off Highway #10. The lake is 6 miles long, as the name states, there is a "big island" in the center of the clear, blue water. The depth of the lake ranges from three feet to one hundred and fifty (150) feet! Perfect for lake trout, or northern pike. You can fish along the shoreline, off the dock, or try some of the "hot spots" on the lake.

 

Kipahigan Camp
is a fly -in only camp located 33 air miles north of Flin Flon. The thirteen mile long lake is famous for some of the best walleye fishing you will experience. Average size is 18-20 inches. Northern are also caught in Kipahigan, ranging from six to eighteen pounds. There are two cabins on the island, each equipped with propane stove, fridge, lights, cooking equipment, and bunk beds. Boats, motors, and gas are included. Guests must provide sleeping gear and provisions. All flights to Kipahigan are done through Wings Over Kississing charter services. Recommended baggage weight is 75 pounds per person. Please contact Westwood Lodge for current airfares.

 

Kisseynew Camp
is a remote camp accessible by logging road, and a three mile boat ride to a remote island A high quality lake, Kisseynew is known for walleye and northern. The camp has two cabins, each furnished with bunk beds, propane lights, stove , refrigerator and the basics for cooking. Daily rate includes cabin, boats, motors and gas. Guests need to bring sleeping bag, pillow, and provisions. Guests are also welcome to bring their own boats and motors at a reduced price.

 

Hunting

Spring & Fall Bear Hunting
Spring and Fall bear hunting is offered at Kipahigan and the base camp. Manitoba hunters have the option of traditional archery, cross bow, black powder, shot gun or rifle. Bait sites are set up with tree stands, with hunting from the ground always an option. Manitoba Conservation stipulates that all non resident bear hunters require a resident, licensed guide. Each guide can accommodate three hunters at a time. Dedicated guides, with over 20+ years of experience guide our clients at Westwood Lodge. Approximately 30% of harvested bears have been of a color phase. Please contact for more details and current prices. Non refundable 50% deposit required.
