The Goal of Nelsonville Outfitters is to provide our clients with the highest quality outdoor experience.  We are committed to providing personalized service, premium equipment and exceptional knowledge of the game we pursue.

Geese over decoys in the morning, ducks in the stubble for the afternoon.  A typical day of waterfowl hunting with Nelsonville Outfitters.

Morning Goose hunts take place on stubble grain fields.  We utilize Final Approach Pro Guide layout blinds to conceal our hunters.  Canada goose spreads usually consist of 4 dozen full size bigfoots and 3-4 dozen shells or sihlouettes.

Evening duck hunts can either be in the marsh over floating decoys and a spinner, or in the field using layouts, a couple dozen duck decoys, a few Canada decs, and a couple of spinners.  Marsh hunts can either be out of a boat, or on foot.

Non toxic shot is required.  In steel, we reccommend 3inch 2's for ducks and 3.5inch BBB for geese.  If you are shooting Hevi shot  or a similar product then 3inch 4's for ducks, and 3inch BB's for geese will suffice.

Southern Manitoba is home to the highest numbers of whitetail in the province.  We are located in the heart of an agricultural area surrounded by wooded creeks and hills.  All of our hunts take place on privately managed lands to ensure the highest quality archery experience.  Well placed stands in travel corridors and over feeding areas provide great opportunities.  Born, raised, and living on the very farms we hunt provide us with an intimate knowledge of the local whitetail and will allow you to tap into the trophy potential.  The guides of Nelsonville Outfitters have years of experience in the field and know what it takes to put together a trophy hunt.

Deer numbers continue to be very strong in our area, and P+Y class deer are very common.  The high deer numbers, combined with light hunting pressure, make for excellent bowhunting.  We have experienced a 75% hunter success rate over the past three seasons.

Black Crappie

Lake Minnewasta has earned the reputation of the premiere Black Crappie fishery in Manitoba.  Nelsonville Outfitters has played a large part in making this happen.  World-renowned angler, Fred J. Taylor of England became the first non-North American Gold badge recipient in Manitoba's Master Angler program by landing a trophy Minnewasta Crappie with Nelsonville Outfitters.  Whether it's filming a television show or guiding a client to another specialist badge, no-one has spent more time successfully fishing Crappie than Dino.

Ice Fishing

If true adventure and big fish is what you are seeking then we definitely have an offer for you.  Late March and early April provide some excellent opportunities for huge Northern Pike and Lake Trout in Northern Manitoba.  Throw in some trophy Whitefish or Burbot and enough walleye to satisfy any appetite and you have all the right elements to make this a trip of a lifetime.  We can offer a fully outfitted trip or a guiding package to suit your needs.
