The Name Lewis Lake comes from an old country school district NW of Naicam. My great grandfather was one of the founders of the original school. The lake, or slough, that was named Lewis Lake is also located NW of Naicam, about two miles from the old school house. I named the waterfowl business after Lewis lake in 2002, after I bought my guiding licence from the government
Naicam
Naicam is one of the first staging areas for the migrating snows/blues, Canada Geese, and Mallards. We also have a very substantial local Canada Goose population with a variety of duck species as well. When the season first opens, our birds haven’t seen any hunting pressure, and decoy very well.
Michael Weseen – Owner Operator
I have been guiding since 1996. I was 16 years of age, and an avid waterfowl hunter. A group of Americans had asked me to start scouting for them after hunting with me a couple of times, and it snowballed from there. My water-fowling experience in the Naicam area has been something I learned at a young age from my father and grandfather. I have excellent knowledge of the area and local farmers, and know who is farming what land at the present, making it easy for us to get permission to hunt.
Justin Andersen – Partner
Justin was born & raised in the Lac Vert/Naicam area. His grandfather was a goose hunting guide for years. It was actually him that Michael Weseen purchased his guiding license from. Justin is an avid hunter, and has a great knowledge of the local area, and farmers in the area.
Rob Benz – Guide
Rob is third generation in the Naicam, Sk area. He has been an avid hunter in Naicam, Spalding, Watson, and Humboldt areas his whole life. He particularly enjoys waterfowl hunting, and personally knows many of the local area hunters. He has been working for Hetland Seeds for the past three years, and began guiding for Lewis Lake Outfitters in the fall of 2014.
Joe Wehage – Guide
Joe has been an avid hunter since early childhood with his father and uncle in the Middle Lake area. He moved to Lac Vert 30+ years ago to manage the Pioneer grain elevator. He is very familiar with the local area, and knows the farmers well. He still actively hunts waterfowl and big game.
