Ram Head Outfitters is a family owned and operated business. Purchased by Stan Simpson in 1981. Stan’s wife Deb and daughters Bailey and Meghan are all very involved in the business. Bailey was 6 months old the first summer at Godlin lakes and Debbie flew home early to have Meghan in October of 1987. Bailey continues to come up; cooking at the Keele river camp and Meghan got her commercial helicopter license in 2009 and flies each summer for us.
Stan comes from an outfitting family, his father David Simpson started wrangling and doing pack trips in 1950 and purchased his first area, starting to outfit in 1954. David was also president of the Alberta Outfitters Association for several years.
Stan’s brother, Frank, outfits in Northern British Columbia for Stone Sheep and brother Flint outfits alongside Frank in Alberta for Bighorn Sheep.
Ram Head Outfitters is committed to keeping sheep on the mountain. We are strong supporters of the Wild Sheep Foundation, donating a Dall sheep hunt every 32 years that we have been in business.
THE HUNT
We offer 12 day and 21 day fully guided backpack, riverboat and helicopter assisted hunts for Dall Sheep, Mountain Caribou, Alaskan-Yukon Moose, Wolf and Wolverine from July through to September.
