Ford’s Guide Service was established in 1995 by Chris Ford. I started my business with Guided Bear Hunting and grew to include: Guided Summer and Winter Ice Fishing (Sleeper Houses/Day Houses), Island Transportation and Tours on Lake of the Woods in Minnesota and Canada. I have always believed in giving clients a First Class, High Quality Experience at a Fair Price. Having grown up in a resort family I have hunted, trapped, and fished my entire life spending five years as a professional trapper.
Having worked at various resorts on the Rainy River and Bostick Creek area of Lake of the Woods, I have come to realize that some needs were not being met for clients. So began the newer services I offer which include: Transportation to and from camps, Muskie Fishing and Touring Lake of the Woods in both Minnesota and Canada, and I will strive to give you the Best Quality and Service possible while keeping you Comfortable and Safe. I have been committed to being an Independent Full-Time Guide and Outfitter since 2005.
I believe that when people go on a fishing trip the #1 Priority should be to have Fun and Catch Fish. As your Minnesota Fishing Guide I want to keep you safe, comfortable, and offer you the best equipment available. My goal is to give everyone lots of personal attention, not run a high volume of people. I am on Lake of the Woods in Northern Minnesota 210 to 240 days per year. I am not a bargain basement operation. I run a Fishing Guide business, not a Charter Service, but it is much more about lifestyle and caring about you, the client. I feel I can do a Better Job for a Fair Price.
Ford’s Guide Service is Coast Guard licensed and fully insured. My packages are all inclusive, there are no hidden costs; what you need to bring is your food and beverage. I offer Black Bear Hunting Packages, Summer and Winter Ice Fishing Packages, Tours/Transportation and I will customize any trip to fit your needs all at a reasonable rate.
