Hunting at Canada North Lodge    

Hunting is an experience that is treasured at Canada North Lodge. We pride ourselves in providing the very best both in terms of an overall experience and success opportunities. Located deep into the North West of Ontario, we offer Black Bear and Moose hunting. At Canada North Lodge, we have hunted for Black bear and the great Canadian Moose for many years. Over the years we have gained the trust of many woodsmen. We have been able to maintain a overall success rate of 50% on our firearm moose hunts and 65% overall success on the Black Bear hunts. In recent years we are seeing considerable improvement with our numbers for our Black Bear hunting rising to 95.6%. Canada North Lodge is located 240 miles North of International Falls, MN in Northwestern Ontario on the Woman River Chain of Lakes. This lake chain consists of eight (8) interconnected lakes with fifty (50) miles of navigable water. A vast unspoiled lake chain which is remote and isolated. No heavy angling pressure. Not lodges upon lodges, cabins upon cabins, or boats upon boats.

The lakes are long and narrow, depths vary from shallow to 130’, and are well structured with many points, reefs, islands, river inlets and river outlets. None of the lakes are overly large or wide which provide good fishing even on the windiest of days. Truly a fisherman’s dream comes true.

The (8) Lakes on the Woman River Lake Chain interconnected, south to north as follows: Little Bear Lake – Loon Lake – Middle Lake – Big Bear Lake – Little Woman Lake – Big Woman Lake – Swain Lake – Washagomis Lake.
Everyone Always Asks About the Big Fish…and we have lots of them, Walleyes up to 9lb, Northern Pike up to 25lb, Lake Trout up to 22lb, and exceptional Smallmouth. The best part is with our careful conservation and catch and release program that these fish are still there, alive and well year after year.
