Elk Valley Bighorn Outfitters is a single family operation that has been in existence since 1983. The area is situated in southeastern British Columbia within the Canadian Rocky Mountains and in the headwaters of the Elk River drainage. Anna Fontana’s late husband Robert grew up in the Elk Valley and developed the territory into a world class operation. The area is home to Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, elk, Shiras moose, mountain goat, grizzly bear, black bear, mule deer, whitetail deer, wolf, cougar and lynx.
The 750 sq. km area is in the headwaters of the Elk River and is bordered by Alberta on the east, with Banff National Park on the north and the White River drainage on the west.
