The question everyone always asks is, “”How did you get the name Sparky?” I got the name Sparky from the owner of the fine dining restaurant, I was the chef at. He was a little bit of a hot head and a screamer. Everyone got a nickname of some sort. If he called you by your nickname everything was fine.
If he started to call you by your real name it was going to be a very long night!
I work as a Certified Executive Chef and have been in the restaurant industry for 30 years and I like to get away from the chaos of the restaurant and go fishing.
I have fished as long as I can remember and being a Chef I have always enjoyed fresh seafood, so it seemed like a natural transition to obtain my Captain’s license.
In the kitchen as a chef with (years of experience) I have enjoyed training future chefs and I have the same passion for helping people catch more and bigger fish on the water. I enjoy teaching others how to do something that I know well so that they can catch more fish. I have the benefit of helping the anglers catch the biggest and most fish and to enjoy their experience on the water, unlike in the dining room where the guest interaction is sometimes minimal.
