Welcome to AMS Outpost Camps

Nakina is well known for being the hottest fishing destination in Ontario. The wilderness north of Nakina is dotted with hundreds of lakes, which are stuffed with Walleye, Jumbo Perch and Northern Pike. The mighty rivers are full of the biggest Brook Trout you can imagine along with monster size Sturgeon.

AMS Outpost Camps has outpost cabins on Ara Lake and three outpost cabins on Stone Lake. These three lakes have incredible fishing for Walleye, Jumbo Perch and Northern Pike. It's not uncommon to catch 50 to 100 Walleyes in a day with many bigger trophy Walleyes up to 10-pounds being caught and released. Pike are just as easy to catch with Monster Northern Pike as big as 28-pounds being caught and release. The weed-beds are also stuffed with Jumbo Perch, which are the size of small Walleyes.

AMS Outpost Camps also has an outpost cabin on Caviar Lake, which is a wide area of the famous Albany River. Our stretch of the river has three waterfalls and numerous rapids, which are all stuffed with the biggest Brook Trout in Canada. Brook Trout (Speckled Trout) are common around 3-pounds but guests have caught Brookies as big as 9-pounds. Lurking in the deep spots behind those Brook Trout are giant Sturgeon, which in the Albany River have been known to reach 150 pounds. The Albany River has fantastic Walleye and Pike fishing as well.

You don't need to spend your money going to over-fished lakes or lakes that are hard to fish. We are a small outfitter with only four lakes but our lakes are the best and receive a lot less fishing pressure than lakes run by the bigger outfitters. Choosing AMS Outpost Camps is the best choice you can make.

Moose Hunting:

Nakina has always been one of the top Moose hunting destinations in Ontario. The area is remote and has countless lakes, rivers and streams, which is the perfect habitat for a high Moose population.

Our Moose hunt takes place in WMU 17 and WMU 18. Each year we are allocated both bull and cow tags but the amount of tags we receive is based on MNR Moose population assessments done the year before. We usually don't know how many tags we will be getting until December. Moose tags are gone very quickly so it's best to reserve your Moose hunting adventure a couple of years ahead of time.

Our Moose hunt is very popular due to the high success rate and the hunt is usually booked a year or two in advance. Please call us for pricing and availability.
