The Ontario Tourism Grading Program awarded Abram Lake Park four stars for our outstanding cottage accommodation!

Abram Lake Park boasts eight gorgeous fully equipped, winterized, housekeeping log cottages; each unique, cozy and hand-built using logs from our very own sawmill! Each cottage is equipped with all the amenities including a living / dining room area, kitchen and bathroom(s). Four of our cottages have a jaccuzzi tub; Firlough & Cedar Crest each has one for two people!

Feel free to take a look and photo-tour of each of our cottages by clicking the links to the right.

Hunting

Our specialty is black bear hunts and we can boast a 80% success rate.

Outfitters in Ontario, in the bear hunting business, must lease land from the government. Only guests of that outfitter may hunt within the leased management area. We have six areas that total 170 square miles (108,000 acres). Due to our large B.M.A. it ensures your safety, a good bear harvest and our high success rate.

Baits are fairly well spread out attracting animals over a wide range. You will not be hunting over previously hunted baits and you are guaranteed two working baits. Baiting starts three weeks prior to your arrival. Bait is replenished every other day for two weeks and then everyday for one week. After we guide you to the bait stations it will be your responsibility to place fresh bait each day during your stay but we will supply the bait. Bait stations can be accessed by car, truck or boat. We require advanced notice of your travel preference. Road and boat hunts range in distance of 5 to 35 miles from Abram Lake Park.

Fall Bear (August 15-November 15) produce the best quality fur.

In order to meet the Ontario regulations for a bear hunt, you are required to bring proof of previous hunting experience, ie. a current or previous hunting licence or a hunter safety training certificate. Firearms and bows must be registered. Please note that hand guns are not allowed into Canada. For rifle procedure go to the federal web site at www.cbsa.gc.ca or call 1-807-274-3655.

Bear licences are available at Abram Lake Park office.
