With Mile High Outfitters, you can hunt elk, deer, black bear, wolf, & mountain lion in the Idaho Wilderness from the comfort of your gentle horse or mule. You can also hunt our front range with horses and stay in our ranch bed and breakfast. We specialize in family high mountain lake and stream fishing vacations in the middle of Idaho’s Frank Church Wilderness.
The Middle Fork of the Salmon River and the Main Salmon River give us some of the most rugged area known to wild herds of Bighorn sheep, moose, & mountain goat. If a wilderness hunting vacation is what you desire, then Mile High Outfitters is your destination.
High Mountain Lake fishing in Idaho's Frank Church Wilderness is our specialty. We have several high mountain lakes to fish. Typically this trip is a 3 to 4 night trip. We catch rainbows, cutthroat and brook trout. The cuts and rainbows are very hard fighting fish for their size. The average rainbow is about 14 inches but they get as large as 16" and the average cutthroat is 15" to 16" but we have caught them as large as 23". Some of these lakes hold fresh water shrimp which produce very large fish. If you like to fish as much as we do, you will have nightmares after catching these fish all day. We recommend groups of four to eight people. These trips start after the Fourth of July and go through the last week in August. This trip is either a roving trip or a base camp trip, depending on which lakes you choose to visit.
