Big Sandy Lodge is 44 miles from the nearest town ofBoulder, Wyoming. We're at 9,100 feet elevation andbordering the Bridger Wilderness at the southern end of the spectacular 90-mile long Wind River Mountain Range. There are no public phones or electricity here at the Lodge, so leave the rest of the world behind and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, fantastic fishing, horseback riding on wilderness trails, the smell of evergreen trees, and incredible star-filled night skies.

Fishing

From Big Sandy Lodge, the Fremont, Lowline, Highline, and Big Sandy trails will take you to 40 different lakes. Six different species of trout await the avid angler! Most lakes are within 8 miles of the lodge. Some of the more remote lakes are within 15 miles. How early can you get in? That depends, of course, on the weather each year and when the snow melts. Some years we can get up to the lodge in mid to late May and the snow doesn't fly again until mid-October. We can't predict the exact date until we get into the spring. Access by horse begins in June, before then we hike in. Great fishing is available in the nearby lake just a few steps from your cabin door! Please call for more information if you want to get in very early in the season. We do not sell fishing licenses at the lodge, so please be sure to get your licenses in town before you come up.

Big Sandy Lodge LLC is in the heart of elk, moose and mule deer country, and an easy drive for superb antelope hunting! We provide outfitting & guide services as well as lodging/meals for self-guided hunters.

We are remotely located 44 miles from the nearest town of Boulder, at the end of the Big Sandy opening road. We are one mile from the Bridger Wilderness boundary in the Bridger-Teton National Forest at 9,100 feet elevation. Due to our remote location, you stay in our log cabins instead of a tent camp.  The cabins have wood burning stoves, kerosene lamps and comfortable beds.  Linens and towels are furnished.

Start your day with a hot shower followed by a hearty breakfast in the lodge. Your lunch will be packed and dinner served when you return.  After you have hunted, relax and enjoy prime trout fishing in the Big Sandy River or at any of the alpine lakes that you are within walking and riding distance of the lodge.
