Fishing Overview

Fishing is a favourite outdoor activity of men , women, children young and old.  Our dams are stocked with fresh water Kurper, Black Bass and Wide Mouth Bass.  Keep an eye open for the elusive Fish Eagle.

Kurper and Bass are both caught either during early mornings and late afternoons and mostly in the summer. Most Bass and Kurper are caught on lures as well worms. They are both predominant around the reed beds where they normally hunt for their prey or on the shallow water edges. Fishermen are encouraged to approach these banks quietly where your chances to catch these elusive species will be better. We adopt a catch and release policy for all species caught. Fishermen are sometimes graced by the presence of the local Fish Eagle or Cape Clawless Otter.
