Woelwaters Resort is situated 85 km’s from Johannesburg in the North West Province. The resort is nestled against the Vaal River which in this area is still unspoiled wilderness and unchanged by human hand for centuries. The resort is still frequently visited by Fish Eagles that roam the area. This section of the river offers pristine fly fishing waters where Yellowfish, Carp, Barbel and Bass are found in abundance. Fly fishers from all over the world flock here to try their hand at catching Smallmouth Yellowfish which are endemic to South Africa. Yellowfish are so called, after their golden colour which is a beautiful sight to behold.

Woelwaters Resort is a great getaway for the whole family as it offers many activities to choose from. While dad is out fishing, the kids can partake in the assorted activities offered by Woelwaters or they can join mom on a shopping spree to the nearby tourist town of Parys.
