AWOL Fishing Charters. Let Captain Carl be your guide for fishing the local waters of South Florida. As a fishing guide for over 20 years, Carl has been guiding customers from Jupiter Inlet south to the Florida Keys and on the west coast to Everglades City, with Fort Lauderdale and Miami’s Biscayne Bay being the main focus. He spends the majority of his time fishing his guests in Biscayne Bay targeting tarpon, permit and bonefish throughout the year. He specializes in fly fishing and spinning rods using live bait and artificial lures.
As a conservationist, Captain Carl understands the importance of catch and release fishing and has teamed up with organizations like Bonefish & Tarpon Trust and the Coastal Conservation Association to promote conservation of our fisheries for future generations. Often times Carl takes a small fin sample for researchers to study migration and growth patterns of targeted species.
Through his experience as a fishing guide Captain Carl knows the importance of not only being determined to put anglers on fish but also being patient and providing an enjoyable and entertaining day on the water. He is accommodating with both the experienced and beginning anglers.
