Nothing beats floating down the river on a cool mountain day.  See the eddy, flip back the bail of your spinning reel, toss the lure, and retrieve.  It doesn't get any better... at least until a strong, river smallmouth strikes your line and the fight is on!

The French Broad River is considered by many to be North Carolina's premier smallmouth bass fishery.  The river flows 213 miles from Rosman, North Carolina, to its confluence with the Holston River at Knoxville, Tennessee.  That point is the beginning of the Tennessee River.  Quality fishing, for smallmouth as well as other species, can be had all along the way.  "The best spot" is often a matter of personal preference for the style and taste of the angler.  For us, sections in Buncombe and Madison Counties, North Carolina, are the perfect mix of quality fishing and pleasant river float.

Fishing Asheville, North Carolina, we offer guided fishing trips in the French Broad River Basin  floating in fishing-specific oar frame rafts.  Efforts are concentrated on the main French Broad River, with several tributaries providing quality options as needed.  A maximum of 2 anglers and a guide go in each raft.  We use classic spinning gear and techniques with artificial lures, and practice CATCH AND RELEASE fishing.  The spinning gear is provided, but feel free to bring your fly rod and gear if you prefer.

Full day trips feature a gourmet deli lunch sourced from a North Asheville deli.

Choose a full or a half-day float.  Full day trips spend 7-8 hours on the water and half day trips 4-5 hours, depending on conditions.  Book a trip today...you'll be glad you did!
