Brian has spent all his life in the Columbia Valley. His grandfather came from the United States and settled in Spillimacheen where he raised a family and passed his wilderness skills down to his family members. He was a trapper and hunter and guided non-resident clients for most of his life.
Brian started hunting with his mother and grandfather when he was barely old enough to walk and has perfected the skills learned from his family during many years spent in the wilderness. Brian started guiding in the early '80s for an outfitter that owned this hunting territory and came to own it himself in 1992. He has many years of experience in operating a hunting business.
Anne moved to British Columbia, Canada in 1981 from the United States and settled in the Kamloops area. She moved to Golden in 1994 and started out as a wilderness cook for Gemstar Outfitting. She was raised in the wilds of northern Minnesota on a summer resort and has dealt with the public in the tourism industry all her life.
In 2000, Brian and Anne became life partners and now they work together to operate Gemstar Outfitting. It is an endeavor to bring the wilderness experience to people that would never have the opportunity to enjoy it otherwise.
Brian and Anne are both avid hunters and outdoorsmen and spend many enjoyable hours each year hunting, fishing, and enjoying the wild country they live in.
Brian and Anne have 6 children and 8 grandchildren between them and look forward to passing on their enjoyment of the wilderness life.
