In the midst of this World heritage Site, lies Thabela Thabeng, nestled in and between the mountains and Vaal River, 100km from Johannesburg.
Thabela Thabeng means: “Be Happy in the Mountains”. Advice that is not hard to follow at this beautiful resort with no TV’s.
The luxury chalets nestle deep and secluded in the heart of the Mountains. Chalets have balconies with breathtaking views, fire places and cozy lapas. They are fully equipped for self catering.
Our river chalet a stone throw away from the ripples and rapids of the Vaal River. Undisputedly this area’s fly fishing paradise.
The cabin sleeps 4 people on single beds in different sleeping areas, creating private and open spaces. Gas and oil lamps add to the eco-friendly atmosphere you would expect from a cabin in the bush. The huge fireplace dwarfs the fully equipped kitchen/ living area whose sliding doors open onto a stoep virtually on the bank of the river.
