The Mooiplaas River Cottage can be found on the farm Mooiplaas, nested in the heart of the Breede River Valley. On this working farm, you will be surrounded by majestic mountains and sweeping vineyards. This beautiful stone cottage is situated on the outskirts of Wolseley, just a hour and thirty minutes drive from Cape Town at the end of the Bainskloof Pass.

Indulge in our breathtaking sunrises and sunsets or just bask in the sun while being lulled by the soft sounds of the Breede River, just five meters away. Savor the fresh air, take a load off, relax and unwind. Come enjoy the simple things that nature treats us with, everyday!

There are many activities to choose from in and around the vicinity of Mooiplaas - from swimming in the river, to fishing. Popular species that can be caught include Bass and Carp – a truly exceptional experience! You can walk and hike any place on this working farm. There are lots to see; a multitude of bird species are on offer, damara sheep, boer goats or just savour the surrounding indigenous fauna. If you enjoy the rough and tumble of a mountain bike, you will enjoy the variety on offer. You can choose from trails on the farm, or one of the many trails on offer close by.
