Northern Saskatchewan is one of the top fly-in fishing destinations in Canada for big Monster Northern Pike and feisty Walleyes.
Pine Island Resort is lucky to be located on Black Bear Island Lake, which is a widening of the famous Churchill River. Both the river and the lake are stuffed with Walleyes and Monster Northern Pike.
Guests can expect to catch 50 to 100 Walleyes in a day, depending on how hard they fish. We also have great numbers of Northern Pike in any size but our claim to fame is the Monster Northerns, which patrol our water and eat anything. Our guests catch-&-release trophy Pike all summer in the 40 to 50-inch range with a few 52 inchers in the last couple of years.
