Hi! Thank you for visiting my website, Mel's Striper Guide Service guided fishing trips on Norris lake and considering me as a fishing guide for your next Norris Lake fishing trip.

My name is Melvin Cooke, I am a full time fishing guide and I appreciate your support of my business.

I started Mel's Striper Guide Service striped bass fishing charters a few years ago. After about 10 years working part time for a friend of mine, offering guided fishing trips on Norris Lake in Maynardville Tennessee, I decided to strike out on my own full time.

I have many years of experience guiding on Norris Lake, just minutes from Knoxville in Union County Tennessee . Being a lifelong resident of Union County, I have fished the beautiful waters of Norris Lake all my life.  It's blue green year round and is one of the cleanest lakes in East Tennessee. With over 800 miles of pristine shoreline and covering 34,000 acres, your day of striper fishing promises to be action packed. We catch several hundred stripers each year in these clear waters, many of which are released unharmed to catch another day.  We practice catch and release as much as possible to help preserve our precious fishery.  However, this is your fishing trip and the choice to keep or release is yours.  Striper catches on Norris usually range from a couple of pounds to over 40 pounds with the average being between 10 and 20 pounds.  As a striper guide, we primarily target stripers but often catch other predator fish such as bass, walleye and catfish.  You may keep these as well.  They don't count toward your striper limits.
