From the Owner. . . .”I have been part of Alaska since 1956. Many incredible changes have taken place since the 1950’s. I want to take you back to the way it was when I was a young man growing up in wild Alaska. Hunt the way the natives hunt! Fish in waters where the fish have never seen a lure! Challenge yourself to a guided hunting or fishing excursion at rates that make sense. This lodge is perfect for any outdoorsman!”

In 1984, Sharon and I set out to provide fishing and hunting trips to refresh and restore Busy Executives. Our first base of operation was a 200 acre camp, my parents helped establish in 1960. We were located in the town of Soldotna on the Kenai Peninsula. We floated past McDonald’s and battled thousands of other fishermen. On high fish days there could be up to 8,000 fishermen per day on the Kenai River!)

Finally, we moved to the remote Holitna River.  (Hint…Caveat_emptor Buyer beware if you are looking at a crowded Kenai River trip offer!)

THE HOLITNA RIVER LODGE is located 238 miles SW of Anchorage in the core of Alaska bush country and is on a spectacular waterway with hundreds of miles of river to fish and hunt from. These river systems contains more species of Alaska sports fish and salmon than almost any other system in Alaska.

We  stage our fishing and hunting adventures from our Holitna River Lodge. We are strategically located in the “Heart” of Alaska.  We have a 2,300 foot runway for our Cessna 206 and our Super Cub, 3 duplex cabins, 4 private cabins, 20 boats, a beautiful garden and a big “Alaskan” main lodge. Our cooks, pilots and guides continue to give you that warm Alaskan hospitality!  We are about as remote as you can get. The fishing is outrageous! Many times we go all week on our river system and do not see another boat. Alaskan Sportfishing Heaven! Your best bet is the fish/hunt combo packages!! Fishing in Alaska the way it should be done. Rocky and Sharon want to give you that warm Alaskan welcome like only a real sourdough can do!
