A legacy in its own right, Red Pebble Plantation has built its reputation on family values, integrity and the tradition of southern heritage and hospitality.
The land was deeded "Red Pebble Farms" to Walter McGarr in the early 1930's and there's evidence in the terrain where the name is derived. An abundance of iron ore in the earth produced granular red pebbles that still pave some of the roads throughout the hunting preserve. Frank McGarr, grandson of Walter and proprietor of the property today, had a vision. He set out on a quest to cultivate the land and build a hunting operation like no other east of the Mississippi; Red Pebble Plantation, born from an idea that passed down three generations.
Red Pebble prides itself on offering the finest tradition of hunting whitetail deer, bobwhite quail and wild boar hogs in the southeast. The hunts are timeless, classic and authentic; professionally guided and managed to ensure quality hunting,
southern style. Nestled in approximately 3000 acres of South Georgia long leaf pines, wiregrass and open sage, the preserve guarantees privacy and comfort. As guests arrive to relax to "blue-sky" thinking with minimal distractions, they are welcomed like family and treated the same. The newly constructed 7000 square foot lodge makes their stay memorable and pleasurable; accommodating as many as eighteen.
At Red Pebble Plantation, the bar is raised as a host of outdoor amenities are featured and included in the hunting experience. Fully stocked fish ponds, target and wobble trap skeet ranges and a seated stone fire pit to relive the day's hunt are just a few to name.
