Located in the famous Brush Country of South Texas you will find the unique Chaparrosa Ranch. This special 80,000 acre ranch is a favorite spot for wildlife because of its diverse topography and mixture of mesquite and native brush. Perfectly situated between the Nueces and Rio Grande rivers, and only two hours from San Antonio makes Chaparrosa not only convenient but also a sportsmen's dream.

In 1993, the present owner purchased Chaparrosa and began building a herd of top quality crossbred cattle while developing the wildlife to a point of excellence. Today the wildlife management program is supervised by two full time ranch biologists. For the first time since 1993, you can experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to hunt and fish on the Chaparrosa Ranch.

Chaparrosa Ranch has been a part of the South Texas Ranching Industry for many years. It was named for the Chaparrosa Creek, which rises in the Anacacho Mountains in the southeastern part of Kinney County and flows southeastward crossing the extreme northeastern corner of Maverick County and continuing into western Zavala County, where it flows into Turkey Creek. The name Chaparrosa is derived from the Spanish word meaning scrub oak and refers to the thick growth in the area.
