Iliwa Safaris offer you a truly African experience in the heart of the malaria free Eastern Cape of South Africa. The family-run ranch is an ideal hunting destination for those looking for a relaxing and adventurous time in the African bush. Our close proximity to a variety of popular tourism destinations provides opportunities for day trips and further travel in our beautiful and diverse region.

Iliwa Safaris is a registered hunting outfitter in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is owned by the 5th generation Dorfling family, farming on the ranch Rietfontein. Father and son, Cois and Francois Dorfling, are both professional hunters. Iliwa Safaris has been a registered hunting outfitter since 1990.

The ranch is situated approximately one and a half hours (1½ hrs) North West of Port Elizabeth. This is where most of the hunting will take place, depending on which animals are on your list. We aim to offer you a budget-friendly hunting experience, without compromising on excellence, in the Malaria Free Eastern Cape region of South Africa. Our family is very aware of nature conservation. On the cliffs near the main homestead, where the name “Iliwa” originated, you will be able to see the nearly extinct black eagle and their breeding nests. The ranch is a voluntary conservation area and we are proud to say that we use only the correct ethical methods of hunting at all times. It is our pride to be able to assist in customising your Africa experience. Should you wish to hunt as well as travel through the beautiful Garden Route along the coast to Cape Town, explore the scenic wonders of the Karoo and broader Eastern Cape, or indeed any place in South Africa – we will be glad to make the necessary arrangements.
